Our Chinese dual language classes have been partnering up to support each other in learning the awesome Chinese language! Here are some of our fifth and third grade partnerships. It is so fun to hear them share their learning in another language and see students working hard together.

Dear parents, It appears there has been some miscommunication regarding Tuesday's sing-along. This activity is for students to enjoy some Christmas cheer prior to the holiday. It is not a choir performance and simply a fun activity for students to sing together. Students are not expected to wear certain kinds of clothes or colors. In fact, Santa is coming (shhh...don't tell them!) so they are encouraged to wear their pajamas. We will be recording and will send out links to that next week. Thanks for understanding as we navigate the new traditions at Golden Spike. We apologize for the confusion.

Golden Spike Staff participated in paint night, led by our fantastic art teacher Mrs. Anderson. We have some very creative people in our midst!

Buddy and Santa, from Box Elder High, came to visit some of our students!!

Last month, the third graders each received a student dictionary from the Rotary Club. They have loved using them at school and at home!

Some of Golden Spikes 2nd graders and 1st Graders did reading buddies. The 2nd graders helped the 1st graders read a book about water and they worked together to sort items into solid, liquid and gas!

Second-grade STEM!!!

It is so fun to see each element of our school come to fruition. I especially love this! Students will be able to see how the air handling system works to control the temperature.

In STEM lab, Mrs. Volesky’s third graders read “The Magnificent Thing” and then created an invention to solve a problem! This is an in-home car wash!

Our first-graders performed a historical Halloween Program for their families on Thursday night. This is the first performance of Golden Spike Elementary and the 23rd year of this Halloween Program! Thanks to Mrs. Simpson for her talent in writing the program all those years ago, Mrs. Putnam for playing the piano, the first-grade teachers for teaching and supporting these efforts, Mrs. Anderson for helping with the art, our custodians for getting things set up, families for your support, and most of all our fantastic students for their energy and the joy they bring to us each day!
